Diversity?

“Diversity” is the opposite of the American ideal of the “melting-pot”. Historically, America has been thought of as a great melting pot of peoples from different cultures, coming to the land of opportunity and willing to give up their culture to adopt a new identity as American. This current move to and talk of “diversity”, however, is an attempt to destroy the melting pot itself, the container that holds the concept of an American culture. If it does indeed destroy the melting pot and the United States goes the way of the Soviet Union, then I am very much in favor of “Diversity”. Whether it will or not, I don’t know. If more people understood what “Diversity” really means then I think it could destroy the United States. As it is practiced and believed though, “Diversity” is just a weapon aimed at White Anglo-Saxon Protestants and destroying the ideals of just this one segment of society won’t destroy the United States.
